The Church of Saint Francis of Assisi
From the 14th century crypt to the 16th century frescos

The Franciscans reached Irsina in 1300 and in 1531 built the convent and adjoining church of Saint Francis (San Francesco), both subsequently rebuilt in 1717.
The church preserves important works of art typical to Southern Italy including; 16h century frescos in the entrance, a wooden crucifix, the sculpture of Saint Vitus (San Vito) and the magnificent 14th century frescos found in the crypt.
