The precious collection of Janora exists thanks to the passionate work of local historian Michele Janora, and is held in the ex -convent of Saint Francis (San Francesco).
There are more than 1600 items in the collection that represent an anthropological and cultural testimony of life in Irsina, and the surrounding area, from Prehistoric times up until the 19th century.
The heart of the collection is made up of many archeological findings including; vases with geometric designs of red-figure and black varnish painting, weapons, bronze and iron ornaments and many coins dating back from the Prehistoric age to the Hellenistic period. All this attests to the presence of man in ancient times.
