The route of the fountains is one of the most intriguing excursions in the countryside of Irsina.
The Bottini, a network of accessible underground water tunnels located just outside the town; draw from the water table found below Irsina. Water taken from the subsoil is deposited into decanting tanks and, once purified, channeled up to the 18th century drinking fountains outside where, even today, you can drink fresh, pure water from thirteen taps.
